Bangkok Pt. 1

Finally found some will to blog. This 1 will be about my trip to Thailand. There will be vids but if you're expecting comedy or dancing then it'll be awhile before my next 1 haha.

So anyways, as some of you know, on the 21st of November, Saturday noon, me and my family went on vacation to Thailand. Just to take a break and do some shopping/sightseeing because it's been awhile since my family went overseas just for the sake of vacationing. Most of the time when we go overseas the main reasons would be to visit relatives and we only do sightseeing during our spare time. So we decided to go on a "real" vacation this time. Not too far, nor too close. Not too long either. About a week in Thailand, 5 nights Bangkok 2 nights Chiang Mai.

Okay so let's start. Btw, since Eugene said I have been lacking pictures in my blog, I made sure to take extra for these posts. Less words, more pictures probably.

Bangkok, Day 1.

Arriving at the airport in Bangkok, as I made my way through I had already spotted a some eye candy around. Some of the girls there made me wish I was old enough. Old enough for what? To be legal la. Legal to do what? Buy fireworks la ! Must celebrate arriving in a country filled with genuine leng luis right? At least I think they're genuine..

At the airport

So we took a taxi van down to our inn which was the Grand Tower Inn Rama VI. It's actually quite far up but the place itself is up to standard and worth the price. Cleanliness and all are okay.

After getting some rest, we decided to head out to look around since the day was still young. The bellboys recommended a lot of sites that we could visit, most of them were located close to each other. So we decided to pick ones that were alone on itself because for the other places, we could just walk from one to another. In the end we decided to go Chinatown. How ironic right? First day in Bangkok and we're going Chinatown.

Well we didn't exactly explore the town but rather, we went along the roads in between the buildings that were filled with markets.

Some stall selling some kind of roti canai-ish food.

The result. It's a crispier version of roti canai with condensed milk poured all over it. Simple but good.

Overall, there wasn't much to buy at the place. It's just like the pasar malam here, food yes, clothes no. It's that sort of place you go to for the food, not the shopping. So, after walking around till evening, because Bangkok was an hour earlier than Malaysia we were already starving at 6 p.m in Bangkok. Hence, we decided to take a taxi to another place called MBK mall which is supposed to be a good place for shopping so said our hotel bellboy earlier in the day.

Oh btw, throughout the whole of our trip, the only way to get around was by using the taxi. And the traffic in Bangkok is so much bloody worse than Malaysia. Luckily the places we visited aren't that far away. And I found the taxis interesting because...

... Most of them were in pink ! Actually, the taxis in Thailand are of all different sizes and colours. But pink ?! I think Emily would ride a taxi everyday just because of it's colour. Unless she's driving a pink car, or...

.. Taking the bus. Yes, it's pink too.

Anyways, so we arrived at MBK and saw a few small stalls set up in the center (Like in 1u). Since we were too starved and we didn't know what to eat yet, we decided to grab a snack which was...

... Coconut ice cream. Sounds weird, right? But tastes awesome. It's not exactly a snack but oh well. Anyways, went to eat at this Thai- Chinese fusion restaurant and then went off to shop.

No comment =P.

Well we didn't buy much there. The place was sort of like Sungei Wang. Once again, it wasn't exactly one of the main places to shop for bargained prices. Just another mall like one of Malaysia's. Wasn't what we were looking for. After that we headed back to the hotel and thus concluded day 1.
